Alan Nash has spent over 30 years in the Securities and Corporate Finance business, originally with American Investment Banks, but for the last 22 years as a principal in independent corporate finance advisory firms. Having graduated from Oxford University with an Honours Degree in Physics, he worked for White Weld & Co as an institutional equity broker until it was taken over by Merrill Lynch in 1978. He then managed the London office of PaineWebber for over 10 years, becoming Vice Chairman of PaineWebber International Ltd and a Director of PaineWebber Incorporated, the US parent company. Alan was appointed Chairman of the UK Association of NYSE Member Firms in 1986. He was appointed a Council Member of the London Stock Exchange following its merger with the International Securities Regulatory Organisation in 1986 and he became Chairman of the International Equity Market Committee, taking responsibility for all equity business outside the UK. Alan then formed his own Corporate Finance firm in 1990, specialising in private equity and convertible placements for US issuers. He joined Oakes, Fitzwilliams & Co. Limited in 1999 as a Director and partner of the two founders. Following a reorganization of the business, Nash Fitzwilliams was formed in 2000.
Alan sits on the Boards of several companies for which NFL has acted as adviser, notably City Car Club and IPV, but also attends Board meetings as an observer in most of the other “NFL” companies.
